How to Check a Gift Card Balance on a PAX Terminal

Quickly check a customer's gift card balance using the Facilipay app on a PAX POS device. Customers can also view their balance themselves by linking the card in the Facilipay mobile app.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to your PAX terminal with the Facilipay app installed.
  • Have the customer's gift card or its number ready.

Step-by-Step: Check a Gift Card Balance

  1. Open the Facilipay App
    On the PAX terminal, open the Facilipay app.

  2. Tap the Gift App
    From the POS home screen, tap the Gift app icon.

  3. Scan or Enter the Card
    Tap the scan icon in the bottom-right corner to open the camera and scan the QR code on the gift card. Alternatively, tap the input field and manually enter the gift card number.

  4. View the Balance
    Once the card is scanned or entered, the gift card details appear and the current balance is displayed in the top-right corner of the screen.

  • Scan when possible: Scanning the QR code is faster and more accurate than manual entry.

  • Customer self-service: Encourage customers to use the Facilipay mobile app to check balances themselves.
