How to Check the Local Network on Clover Mini

If a Clover Mini loses connectivity, kiosk functionality may be impacted. This guide outlines how to check the local network settings and identify potential connectivity issues.

Before You Begin

  • You must have physical access to the Clover Mini.
  • Have router credentials handy in case you need to reconnect.

Step-by-Step: Check Network Connectivity

  1. Unlock the Clover Mini
Tap the four corners of the screen simultaneously to unlock the device.

  2. Open Network Settings
Open the Settings app on the Clover device. Alternatively, swipe down from the top right corner of the screen and tap Settings.

  3. Check Wi-Fi Status
Under Wireless & Networks, ensure Wi-Fi is switched ON. If Wi-Fi is off:

    • Slide the toggle to ON
    • The device will automatically search for available networks
  4. Confirm Network Connection
From the list of available networks:

    • Select the designated Clover network
    • Ensure the network is WPA2 secured

If an unsecured network is detected, update your settings to connect to a secure WPA2 network.

  5. Troubleshoot Network Availability
If no networks appear, check that the router is powered on and functioning. Router light indicators:

    • Steady or blinking green – Router is functioning. Reboot the Clover Mini.
    • Blinking yellow or red – Network issue detected. Contact your IT support team.

What Happens After You Reconnect

The Clover Mini is reconnected to a secure Wi-Fi network and kiosk functionality is restored.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use a dedicated network: Keep payment devices on a separate network from guest Wi-Fi.

  • Reboot router periodically: A scheduled router reboot prevents lingering connection issues.
