Setting Up Network Checks on Clover Mini

If the Clover Mini loses connectivity, there may be some loss of function for the kiosks. This guide walks through diagnosing and repairing this issue using the device's built-in network settings.

Before You Begin

  • You must have physical access to the Clover Mini.
  • Have router credentials handy if you need to reconnect.

Step-by-Step: Diagnose Network Issues

  1. Unlock the Clover Mini
Tap the four corners of the screen simultaneously to unlock the device.

  2. Open Settings
On your Clover device, tap to open the Settings app. (Alternatively, you can swipe down from the top right corner of the screen and then tap Settings.)

  3. Check Wi-Fi Status
Under Wireless & Networks, check that Wi-Fi is switched to ON. If Wi-Fi is switched off, tap to slide the switch to ON. The device automatically searches for available networks within range.

  4. Connect to a Secure Network
View the list of available networks to find the one you have set up for Clover devices. Clover devices require a WPA2 secured Wi-Fi network. The Clover device may detect an unsecured network and will prompt you to change your settings to a secure network.

  5. Check the Router
If you don't see any networks, check the router is functioning:

    • If the router light shows steady or blinking green, the router is functioning — reboot the Clover Mini.
    • If the router light blinks yellow or red, contact your IT support team.

What Happens After You Reconnect

The Clover Mini reconnects to a secure Wi-Fi network and kiosk functionality is restored.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use a dedicated network: Keep payment devices on a separate network from guest Wi-Fi.

  • Reboot router periodically: A scheduled router reboot prevents lingering connection issues.
