How to Connect an External Printer for Order Ahead

Connect an external printer to your Clover device so online orders placed through the Order Ahead app are automatically printed for preparation or fulfilment.

Before You Begin

  • You must have a network printer ready to connect.
  • Both the printer and your Clover device must be on the same network.

Step-by-Step: Connect the Printer

  1. Connect the Printer to the Network
    Connect your printer to the internet using a LAN cable, ensuring it is on the same network as your Clover device.

  2. Open the Printers App
    Unlock your Clover device and open the Printers application.

  3. Add the Printer
    Tap the "+" icon to add and connect the printer to your Clover device.

  4. Open Order Ahead Preferences
    Open the Order Ahead app, tap the three-dot menu, and go to Preferences.

  5. Confirm Auto-Accept
    Ensure Automatically Accept All Orders is enabled (recommended).

  6. Set the Default Printer
    Tap Default Printer and select the printer you want the Order Ahead app to use.


What Happens After You Connect

All incoming online orders automatically print to the selected printer, giving your team immediate notification of new orders.
