How to Create a Category for Online Ordering (Tablet)
Categories organise products within your online ordering store, improving navigation and the customer experience. Products must be created first before being assigned to a category.
Before You Begin
- You must be logged into the Facilipay Dashboard with admin access.
- The products you want to assign must already exist in your inventory.
Step-by-Step: Create and Assign a Category
Create a New Category
From the Facilipay Dashboard, click Create in the top right corner of the homepage and select Category.Enter the required details:
- Category Name
- Assign the category to the relevant Online Ordering Branch
Ensure Available for Ordering is enabled, then click Save.
Assign Products to the Category
Navigate to Products and select the product you want to assign. In the Category dropdown field, choose the newly created category, then click Save.Repeat this process for any additional products.
What Happens After You Save
The category is created and products are successfully assigned, making them visible within your online ordering store under the new category.
Tips & Best Practices
Use clear category names: Names like "Mains", "Drinks", "Desserts" help customers navigate the menu intuitively.
Order categories thoughtfully: Place high-conversion categories at the top using sort order.
