How to Display Inventory Modifiers on Order Receipts

Modifiers such as add-ons, sizes, or customisations can be configured to appear on printed order receipts in Clover. Enabling this setting ensures kitchen staff and customers see every detail of what was ordered.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to your Clover Dashboard.
  • Modifiers must already be configured against your inventory items in Clover.

Step-by-Step: Enable Modifier Display on Receipts

  1. Log In to Clover
    Sign in to your Clover Dashboard using your administrator credentials.

  2. Open Setup
    From the left-hand menu on the Clover home screen, select Setup.

  3. Open Order Receipt Settings
    Click Order Receipts to open the receipt configuration options.

  4. Enable Modifier Display
    Locate the receipt settings and enable the following option:

    • Show modifier group name for each modifier

    This ensures both the modifier and its group name appear on printed receipts.

  5. Save and Test
    Click Save to apply the changes. Process a test transaction to confirm modifiers now appear correctly on printed receipts.


What Happens After You Save

  • Inventory modifiers will display on all new printed order receipts.

  • Receipts will show clearer breakdowns of customised items, helping kitchen staff prepare orders accurately.

  • Run a test print: Always print a test receipt after saving to confirm formatting looks correct.

  • Review modifier names: Make sure your modifier and group names are clear and concise — they will print on every receipt.
