Donations Mode in the Self Checkout App

Donations Mode provides a cashless solution for collecting donations. It allows customers to select from preset donation amounts or enter a custom value — ideal for charities, fundraisers, or events.

Before You Begin

  • Donations Mode must be enabled by the Facilipay team before you can use it.
  • The Self Checkout app must be installed and active on your Clover device.

How Donations Mode Works

When Donations Mode is enabled:

  • Preset donation amounts are displayed on screen.
  • A Custom Amount option allows customers to enter their preferred donation value.

After a donation amount is selected, the customer is prompted to complete payment using one of the following methods:

  • Card payment
  • Facilipay account balance

How to Activate Donations Mode

Donations Mode must be enabled by the Facilipay team. To request activation, please contact support@facilipay.io.


What Happens After Activation

Once enabled, the Self Checkout app operates in Donations Mode, allowing customers to process cashless donations using the available payment methods.

  • Set sensible presets: Choose preset amounts that reflect typical donation values for your audience.

  • Promote the kiosk: Signage near the device makes it more likely visitors will engage.
