How to Enable the Camera on Your PAX Device

The camera on your PAX device is used to scan cards and QR codes to speed up transactions. If the scanner isn't working as expected, follow these steps to reset and re-enable it.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to your PAX device with administrative permissions.
  • Have the device password ready (see Step 2).

Step-by-Step: Reset Camera / Scan Settings

  1. Open Device Settings
    Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the menu, then tap the Settings (gear icon) in the top right.

  2. Enter the Password
    When prompted, enter the password: 9876.

  3. Access Scan Settings
    In the Settings menu, tap Scan Settings.

  4. Reset Scan Settings
    Tap the three dots in the top right, then select Reset Scan Settings.

  5. Test the Scanner
    Press the button on the left-hand side of the device. Confirm a red light appears at the top of the device, which indicates the scanner is active.


What Happens After You Reset

The scanner is reset and ready to use for card and QR code scanning.


Troubleshooting

If the scanner is still not working after the reset:

  • Restart the PAX device
  • Try scanning a card again
  • If the issue persists, contact support@facilipay.io
