How to Add QR Codes for Online Ordering in Facilipay

QR codes let your customers scan a code with their phone and order online instantly — whether for table service, collection, or delivery. Follow this guide to set up your QR codes so customers can place orders without navigating menus manually.

Before You Begin

Before generating QR codes for online ordering, make sure you’ve completed these setup steps:

  1. Enable Online Ordering for your business branch in the Facilipay Business Portal.

  2. Configure dispatch methods such as collection, delivery, or table service as needed.

  3. Customise your online menu so products and categories are available for online ordering.

  4. Set up time slots or prep windows as required for order volumes and operational flow.

  5. Order prep times and branch availability must be configured so the ordering experience works correctly.

These settings ensure your QR codes link to a working online ordering page with menus tailored to your business.

Step-by-Step: Generate and Use QR Codes

1. Log In to the Business Portal

Sign in to the Facilipay Business Portal at dashboard.facilipay.com (or the equivalent business login URL).

2. Select the Branch

Click My BusinessBranches. Choose the branch for which you want to create QR codes for online ordering.

3. Open Ordering Settings

Within the selected branch:

  1. Click Ordering.

  2. Navigate to the Table Service or Fixed Delivery / Order to Table section (exact label may vary).

  3. Ensure the option is enabled.

If your settings are correct, you should now see a list of available table numbers or ordering destinations.

4. Copy the Ordering Link

For each table or ordering location:

  1. Click Copy Link beside the table or location entry.

  2. This will copy a unique ordering URL that directs customers to place orders for that specific place or purpose.

5. Generate the QR Code

QR code generation isn’t performed directly in Facilipay — instead:

  1. Go to a QR code generator website (e.g., qr.io or another service).

  2. Paste the ordering URL into the generator’s URL field.

  3. Select your preferred settings (e.g., image format, size).

  4. Click Download to save the QR code image.

6. Print or Display the QR Code

Once downloaded:

  • Print the QR code and place it on tables, menus, posters, or signage in your venue.

  • Customers can now scan the QR code with their smartphone camera to open your online ordering page instantly.

  • The table or ordering context will be pre-selected based on the QR code they scanned.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Clear Placement: Ensure QR codes are placed where customers can easily scan them (e.g., table stands, counters).

  • Label QR Codes: Include text like “Scan to Order” or “Order to Table 5” so customers know what each QR code does.

  • Test Each Code: Before printing in bulk, test the QR codes on a phone to confirm they open the correct ordering page.

  • Update Links if Needed: If you change menus or product availability, regenerate the QR codes so customers always get up-to-date information.

What Customers Will Experience

When a customer scans the QR code with their phone:

  1. Their phone opens the ordering page in the Facilipay ordering interface.

  2. The menu displayed corresponds to the context assigned (e.g., table number).

  3. The customer selects items, chooses a dispatch option (e.g., table delivery, collection), and checks out.

Troubleshooting

  • Link Doesn’t Work: Ensure online ordering is enabled for the branch and dispatch methods are configured correctly.

  • Menu Items Don’t Appear: Confirm products and categories are marked available for online ordering.

  • Wrong Table Assigned: Check that the correct ordering link was copied before generating the QR code
