How to Complete a Gift Aid Donation on Facilipay Self Checkout

Make a Gift Aid donation using the Donations mode of Facilipay Self Checkout, adding 25% to your gift at no extra cost to you.

Before You Begin

  • The Self Checkout app must be launched in Donations mode.
  • Have your details ready for the Gift Aid declaration: first name, surname, house name or number, postcode, and email address.
  • Have your payment card ready to insert or tap.

Step-by-Step: Complete a Gift Aid Donation

  1. Open the Donations Page Launch the Self Checkout app that handles donations. It opens on the Donations page, which offers pre-set values or the option to enter a custom amount.
  2. Select Your Amount Tap one of the pre-set values, or enter a custom amount.
  3. Choose Gift Aid A screen shows your selected value plus the additional 25% at no extra cost to you. To proceed with Gift Aid, tap Donate with Gift Aid.
  4. Complete the Gift Aid Declaration Enter the following details:
    • First Name
    • Surname
    • House Name or Number
    • Postcode
    • Email Address (optional — you can proceed without one, but you won't receive an annual statement)
  5. Confirm the Declaration Tap the box next to the Gift Aid declaration, then tap Continue to Pay.
  6. Add Your Phone Number (First Time Only) After entering your details for the first time, you'll be prompted to add your phone number so your details can be found for future donations. Enter your number and tap Continue.
  7. Choose Whether You Want a Receipt When asked if you want a receipt, tap the box to request one, or just tap Continue to skip.
  8. Make Your Payment Insert or tap your card to complete the payment.
  9. Confirm the Donation Once the payment is successful, a Thank You for Your Donation message is displayed.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Add an email address: An email address is optional, but without one you won't receive an annual statement of your Gift Aid donations.
  • Save your details for next time: Adding your phone number on your first donation means your details can be found automatically on future Gift Aid donations, so you won't need to re-enter them.
