How to Enable Order Printing for Order Ahead

If you're using Facilipay Online Ordering (Order Ahead) on a Clover POS and want online orders to print automatically to the right devices, configure label-based printing. This is especially helpful when multiple printers are used (e.g. kitchen and bar).

Before You Begin

  • You must have printers connected and configured in your Clover Printers app.
  • Your Clover device should be on the same network as your printers.
  • The Order Ahead app must be installed and accessible on your device.

Step-by-Step: Enable Order Printing

  1. Assign Labels in the Clover Printers App

    1. From your Clover POS, open the Printers app.
    2. Add or select your Order Printer (e.g. kitchen, bar).
    3. Tap the printer to manage its labels.
    4. Tick the appropriate label(s) that correspond to the products you want that printer to receive. For example, assign Bar to drinks and Kitchen to food.

    These labels determine what prints where when orders come in.

  2. Enable Label-Based Printing in Order Ahead

    1. Open the Order Ahead app on your Clover device.
    2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner, then select Preferences.
    3. Scroll down and find Print by Clover Label.
    4. Enable this option.

    When enabled, only items with the assigned printer labels will print on their respective printers, helping route items correctly without printing full receipts on every device.

What Happens After You Enable

With label-based printing enabled and printer labels assigned, customer orders are routed automatically to the correct printer(s) based on product labels. Drinks go to the bar printer, hot food to the kitchen printer, and so on — without manual intervention.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Test each printer: Place a test online order to make sure each printer prints only its intended items.

  • Use logical label names: Names like "Kitchen", "Bar", "Desserts" make routing intuitive for staff.

  • Network stability: Ensure all printers and your Clover device are connected to a stable local network.

  • Combine with full printing if needed: If you also want full order receipts with customer details, enable Send Orders to Printer in the same preferences.
