How to Redeem Credit on the Facilipay Merchant App

You can use the Facilipay Merchant App on a smartphone or tablet to redeem customer credit (such as gift card balance, eVoucher, or stored credit) quickly and easily. This is useful when a customer wants to apply their balance against a purchase at your location.

Before You Begin

✔ Install the Facilipay Merchant App from the App Store or Google Play and log in with your business credentials.
✔ Make sure the customer has their voucher, QR code, or card available for scanning.
✔ Confirm your device’s internet connection so the app can sync with Facilipay systems.


Step-by-Step: Redeem Credit

1. Open the Merchant App

Launch the Facilipay Merchant App on your smartphone or tablet.

2. Choose How to Identify the Customer

You have two options to locate the customer’s account:

  • Scan the QR Code: Tap Scan and use the camera to scan the customer’s digital or printed QR code.

  • Use NFC (if supported): Tap NFC to read contactless cards.

Once the customer’s account is detected, their name and current balance will appear on screen.


3. Select the Credit Type

Depending on what is in the customer’s account, you may see options like:

  • Credit

  • Gift

Tap the relevant option to start redeeming that type of balance.


4. Enter the Transaction Amount

Type the amount the customer wants to redeem against this purchase (for example, the total sale amount or partial payment).


5. Redeem and Finish

Press Redeem to apply the credit:

  • The app deducts the amount from the customer’s balance.

  • You’ll see the updated balance after redemption.

Tap Finished to return to the app’s home screen when you’re done.

The customer may receive a push notification confirming their updated balance.


Tips & Best Practices

Confirm Balance First: Before finalising the transaction, show the customer their current balance so they know how much credit they have.
Partial Redemptions: You can redeem part of the balance if the purchase total is less than the available credit.
Staff Training: Ensure staff know how to scan both QR codes and NFC cards to speed up service.


What Happens Next

After redeeming credit:

  • The customer’s account balance is updated in real time.

  • You can proceed with any remaining payment if needed using another tender method.

  • A confirmation screen or receipt may display the updated balance for record-keeping.
