How to Sell a Gift Card from Oracle OPERA PMS

Activate and sell a gift card directly from within the Oracle OPERA interface. The card is issued against a checked-in reservation and posted to the guest folio for billing.

Before You Begin

  • The reservation must be checked in before issuing a card.
  • You must have access to Oracle OPERA Cloud with billing permissions.
  • Have your Cashier ID and PIN ready.

Step-by-Step: Sell a Gift Card

  1. Access the Reservation
    From the OPERA Cloud menu, select Bookings → Reservations → Manage Reservation.

    Search for and open the reservation.

  2. Open Prepaid Card Details
    Click the Prepaid Card details link.

  3. Enter Your Credentials
    If prompted:

    • Select the Cashier ID
    • Enter your PIN
    • Click Login

    The Billing Information screen appears.

  4. Click Issue Card
    Click Issue Card. The Prepaid Cards screen appears. Complete the following:

    • Prepaid Card Interface: Select the prepaid card interface from the list.
    • Card Number: Enter the gift card number.
    • Name/First Name: Defaults to the primary profile linked to the reservation.
    • Amount: Enter the issue amount.
    • Select "Post Amount to Room": Select to post the issue amount to guest folio (reservation account).

What Happens After You Issue

The gift card is activated with the specified amount and the cost is posted to the guest's reservation folio for billing at checkout.
