How to Send a Push Notification Communication to Customers in App (Facilipay)
If your business has a branded mobile app powered by Facilipay, you can send push notifications directly to your customers from the Facilipay Business Portal. Push notifications are short messages that appear on users’ devices, helping you drive engagement, share offers, or deliver important updates.
Before You Begin
✔ Your business must have a branded app powered by Facilipay available on iOS and/or Android.
✔ You must be logged in to the Facilipay Business Portal with permissions to manage customer communications.
✔ Only locations with the communications feature enabled (as part of the branded app) can send push messages.
Step-by-Step: Send a Push Notification
1. Open the Business Portal
Sign in to the Facilipay Business Portal using your account credentials.
2. Go to Customers
From the main menu, select Customers.
3. Open Communications
Within the Customers section, click Communications.
Note: This option only appears if your business has a branded app with push notification support.
4. Enter the Notification Content
You’ll see fields to customise your push:
-
Title: This is the bold headline that appears on the user’s device.
-
Message Body: This is the main text users will see in the notification.
-
Link/Deep-link (optional): You can include a URL or in-app link so users go to a specific screen when they tap the notification.
5. Review and Send
Once you’ve completed the title and message:
-
Double-check for typos and accuracy.
-
Optionally include a link to an in-app destination (like an offer or a new menu).
-
Click Send to deliver the push to all users of your branded app.
Your customers will receive the message directly on their device as a push notification.
Best Practices for Push Notifications
Push notifications can be a powerful engagement tool, but it’s important to use them thoughtfully:
-
Make Messages Relevant: Only send notifications that provide clear value or timely information.
-
Keep It Short and Clear: Write concise titles and messages so customers understand the purpose instantly.
-
Use Deep Links: When possible, link to a specific part of your app (e.g., a new offer) to increase engagement.
-
Respect Frequency: Too many notifications may annoy users — balance frequency with value.
These best practices help ensure your push notifications are engaging and effective.
What Customers See
When customers receive your push notification on their device:
-
It will appear in their notification tray or lock screen (depending on device settings).
-
If they tap it, they’ll be taken into the app — either to the home screen or directly to a linked page you specified.
