How to Manually Accept Online Orders on a Tablet

Manually accept or decline incoming online orders from the tablet running the online ordering app. When manual acceptance is enabled, customers only receive confirmation once the order has been accepted on the tablet.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to the tablet running the Online Ordering / Order Ahead app.
  • Manual acceptance must be configured in your branch settings (rather than auto-accept).

Step-by-Step: Accept or Decline an Order

  1. Receive the New Order Prompt
When a customer places an order, a New Order prompt appears in the Online Ordering / Order Ahead app on the tablet, showing the items ordered and the requested collection or delivery time.

  2. Accept the Order
Tap Accept Order to confirm. The customer receives an email confirmation, and if a printer is connected to the tablet, the order automatically prints.

  3. Decline the Order
If you cannot fulfil the order, tap Decline Order. The customer receives an email notifying them that the order has been declined.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Respond promptly: Customers expect a quick decision — aim to accept or decline within a few minutes of receiving an order.

  • Decline clearly when needed: If you can't fulfil an order, declining is better than accepting and disappointing the customer.

  • Consider auto-accept for peak times: If you're confident in your kitchen capacity, auto-accept can streamline busy periods.
