Oracle Error Reporting
Should you see an error starting with Oracle Error then this article explains the best practice when handling these
If you see an error message beginning with Oracle Error... e.g Oracle Error Unable to connect to database, this indicates an issue originating from your Oracle Simphony system rather than the Facilipay application.
These messages are returned by Oracle when the application is unable to successfully communicate with, or process information from, your Oracle environment.
Common Causes
Before trying the action again, check the following:
Oracle server availability – Confirm that your Oracle server is online and operating normally.
Network connectivity – Check that the Simphony workstation has a stable network connection and can communicate with both the internet and your Oracle system.
Oracle system connectivity – Confirm that the workstation can successfully connect to the required Oracle services.
Inventory configuration – Check that the relevant items are correctly configured and available within your Oracle inventory.
Pricing – Confirm that the affected items have valid and correctly configured pricing within Oracle.
Item details – Check that item names, descriptions and other required information are correctly configured in Oracle.
Recent Oracle changes – If items, pricing, inventory or other settings have recently been changed, confirm that these changes have been correctly applied and synchronised.
Still Seeing the Error?
If the checks above do not resolve the issue, contact your Oracle support agent for further assistance.
As the error is being returned by the Oracle system, your Oracle support agent will be best placed to identify the cause and troubleshoot the affected server, workstation, network connection or Oracle configuration.
When contacting Oracle Support, we recommend providing them with:
The full error message displayed
The affected Simphony workstation
The action you were attempting when the error appeared
The affected item or product, where applicable
The approximate date and time the error occurred
Providing this information can help Oracle Support investigate the issue more quickly.
