Program Zebra Scanner for EAN-13 and UPC-A Codes
Zebra scanners must be configured to read the correct barcode formats for compatibility with the Facilipay Self Checkout app. In the US, UPC-A (UPC-12) is standard, while EAN-13 is commonly used in the EU and other regions. This guide enables both formats to ensure accurate barcode scanning.
1) Restore Scanner Defaults
Using the Zebra scanner, scan the Restore Defaults barcode.
The scanner will reset to its factory configuration.
2) Disable All Code Types
Scan the Disable All Code Types barcode.
The scanner will beep to confirm the setting has been applied.
3) Enable EAN-13
Scan the Enable EAN-13 barcode.
The scanner will beep to confirm successful activation.
4) Enable UPC-A
Scan the Enable UPC-A barcode.
The scanner will beep to confirm successful activation.
5) Remove Preamble / Extra Data
Scan the No Preamble barcode.
This ensures that only the product barcode number is transmitted when scanning, without additional characters.
6) Test the Scanner
Open the Facilipay Self Checkout app and scan a product barcode.
The item should now be recognised correctly.

The Zebra scanner is configured to read both EAN-13 and UPC-A (UPC-12) barcodes and is fully compatible with the Facilipay Self Checkout app.
