How to Redeem a Gift Card
Gift cards can be redeemed directly through the payment terminal by selecting the sale option and entering the required amount. The customer's gift card balance is reduced by the redemption value.
Before You Begin
- You must have access to your payment terminal.
- Have the customer's gift card ready for redemption.
Step-by-Step: Redeem a Gift Card
Access the Main Menu
From the Welcome or Waiting For Request From Till screen, tap the screen or press any key. The main terminal menu will display.Select Sale
Using the touchscreen, select Sale from the terminal menu.Enter the Redemption Amount
Enter the amount you wish to redeem from the gift card balance, then select OK to proceed.Complete the Transaction
Once approved:- A merchant copy of the receipt will print.
- A customer copy will then print automatically.
After printing, the terminal returns to the Welcome / Waiting For Request From Till screen.
What Happens After You Redeem
The specified amount is redeemed from the gift card balance, and the transaction is recorded on the terminal.
Tips & Best Practices
Confirm the balance first: Where possible, confirm the gift card balance with the customer before processing.
Keep receipts: Provide both copies to the customer and your records for cross-checking.
