How to Redeem a Gift Card on Clover Flex

Redeem a customer's gift card balance on a Clover Flex when it is operating as a payments terminal. The card balance is applied to the transaction at checkout.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to your Clover Flex device.
  • The Facilipay Gift Card app must be installed and active.

Step-by-Step: Redeem a Gift Card

  1. Open the Sale App
    On the Clover Flex home screen, open the Sale app.

  2. Enter Transaction Amount and Select Payment
    Enter the transaction amount, then select Gift Card by Facilipay as the payment option.

  3. Open the Gift Card App and Scan
    This opens the Gift Card app. Tap the QR code icon and scan the customer's gift card.

  4. Review the Balance
    The linked account appears showing the current balance, the transaction total, and the remaining balance after redemption.

  5. Tap Redeem
    Tap Redeem to complete the transaction.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Confirm before redeeming: Show the customer the balance breakdown before tapping Redeem.

  • Have a backup payment ready: If the gift card doesn't cover the full amount, the customer needs another tender.
