How to Refund a Customer Transaction to Their Account Balance

Customer transactions can be refunded directly to their Facilipay balance using the Merchant App. This method lets you quickly locate a specific account and process a refund without searching through the full transaction history.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to the Facilipay Merchant App.
  • Have the customer's name, email, or Facilipay Card ID ready.

Step-by-Step: Refund to Customer Balance

  1. Search for the Customer
    From the Merchant App home screen, tap the Search bar. Search using:

    • Customer name
    • Email address
    • Facilipay Card ID

    Select the correct customer from the search results.

  2. Open the Customer's Transaction History
    On the customer's account page, tap the two rotating arrows icon in the top right corner. This displays the customer's transaction history.

  3. Select the Transaction to Refund
    A red icon appears beside each transaction. Scroll to locate the transaction you wish to refund. Tap the red icon beside the relevant transaction.

    Select Refund when the option appears on the right-hand side, then confirm the refund when prompted.


Alternative Method

Refunds can also be processed from the main History page by selecting the same refund icons. However, searching for the customer first is recommended when managing a high volume of transactions.


What Happens After You Refund

The selected transaction is refunded to the customer's Facilipay balance. The customer can use the refunded balance for future purchases.
