Scanners Compatible with Self Checkout
Scanners can make Self Checkout on Clover POS more effective for customers, allowing for a smoother transaction flow. This article lists the scanners we recommend for use with the Facilipay Self Checkout app.
Before You Begin
- An external scanner is recommended for best results, though Clover's built-in scanner can also be used.
- All listed scanners connect via USB.
Why Use an External Scanner?
One of our popular Self Checkout modes on a Clover POS is Scan & Go, which lets customers scan product barcodes directly so items appear in the current order. While the built-in Clover device scanner works, we recommend an external scanner for ease of use and reliability.
Recommended Scanners
DT60
This is a USB scanner we offer that comes in a branded outer shell. The scanner can be purchased here.
Zebra DS2208
An external USB scanner that reads the barcodes you've entered against inventory items. This needs to be sourced externally.
Zebra DS9208
Similar to the DS2208, this external scanner connects to the Clover POS via USB and can be used to scan barcodes that have been entered into your inventory.
Tips & Best Practices
Test scan range: Confirm the scanner's effective scan distance suits your kiosk setup.
Configure code types: Make sure your scanner is configured to read EAN-13 and UPC-A codes (see related article).
