How to Set Advanced Rules on Bundles
Advanced rules let you control how and when bundles can be redeemed. Limit redemptions per order, restrict usage within specific time periods, and set expiry dates on purchased bundles for tighter control over your offering.
Before You Begin
- You must have already created the bundle. For instructions, see How to Create a Bundle.
- You must be logged into the Facilipay Business Portal with admin access.
Set Maximum Items Redeemable Per Order
Limit how many items from a bundle can be redeemed in a single transaction. This is useful when you want to encourage repeat visits rather than allowing customers to redeem the full bundle at once.
Example: If you offer 10 Coffees for £30, you may want to restrict customers to redeeming 1 coffee per order.
To configure this:
- Locate the Max Redeemed Items Per Order field.
- Enter the maximum number allowed (e.g. 1).
Limit Redemptions Within a Time Period
Restrict how often items can be redeemed within a specific timeframe. Available options typically include:
- Hourly
- Daily
- Weekly
- Monthly
Example: To limit customers to 2 coffees per day, select Daily and enter 2 in the quantity field.
Set an Expiration Date for the Bundle
Define how long customers have to redeem their bundle before it expires. You can choose:
- A rolling expiry (e.g. after a number of days, months, or years)
- A fixed expiration date
Example (Rolling Expiry): To expire a bundle 3 months after purchase, select Months and enter 3.
Example (Fixed Date): Select Fixed Date and choose a specific date from the calendar.
Save Your Changes
After configuring your advanced rules, click Update at the bottom right of the screen.

Your bundle advanced rules are configured, controlling redemption limits, frequency, and expiry settings.

Match limits to operations: Don't set rules that overwhelm staff at the till — keep them simple.
Use expiry to manage liability: Open-ended bundles create long-term liabilities — expiry dates help.
