How to Set Products Available for Pre-Ordering

Control which products or categories are available for online pre-ordering directly from the Order Ahead app on a Clover device. This lets you quickly enable or disable items so customers can only pre-order what's currently available.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to the Order Ahead app on your Clover device.
  • Decide which products or categories should be available for pre-ordering.

Step-by-Step: Configure Product Availability

  1. Open the Order Ahead App
    Open the Order Ahead app on your Clover device.

  2. Open Preferences
    Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the screen and select Preferences.

  3. Open Product Availability
    Tap Set Product Availability — the first option in the menu.

  4. Toggle Items
    You'll see a list of items. Use the toggle beside each product to mark it as:

    1. Available for Ordering, or
    2. Not Available for Ordering
  5. Update in Bulk (Optional)
    To enable or disable products in bulk, tap Categories at the top of the screen and toggle availability for an entire category or individual items within it.


What Happens After You Save

Customers will only be able to pre-order items that are marked as available for ordering. Changes apply immediately.


Tips & Best Practices

  • Use category-level toggles for big changes: Bulk-disabling categories is faster than working item-by-item.

  • Refresh regularly during service: Mark items unavailable as soon as stock runs out to prevent disappointment.
