Tablet Ordering: External Printer Compatibility & Setup (Internet)

Connect a printer to your tablet so staff in store can be notified and manage online orders as they come in. LAN is recommended for best reliability.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi or local network as your tablet.
  • Turn the printer on.
  • LAN connection is recommended for best performance.

Note: Facilipay primarily supports Star Micronics printers (e.g. mC-Print3). Other printers may work, but compatibility is not guaranteed.

Step-by-Step: Connect via Network

  1. Open the App
    Open the Order Ahead app on your tablet.

  2. Access Printer Settings
    Tap the three dots in the top right and select Preferences.

  3. Add a Printer
    Scroll to Printer Management and tap Add a printer.

  4. Select Connection Type
    Choose Local Area Network (LAN).

  5. Select Your Printer
    Choose your printer from the list.


What Happens After You Connect

Your printer is connected and ready to print orders. Staff can immediately receive notifications and manage online orders.


Alternative Connection Options

  • If supported by your tablet, you can connect via Bluetooth.
  • However, a LAN connection is recommended for reliability.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Test before launch: Print a test order to confirm everything works as expected.

  • Place printer thoughtfully: Position the printer where kitchen or counter staff can access tickets quickly.
