Tablet Ordering: External Printer Compatibility & Setup (Ethernet)

Order Ahead on tablet can use external printers connected on the same network as the tablet via an Ethernet cable. A LAN connection is recommended for best reliability.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same network as your tablet.
  • Turn the printer on.

Note: Facilipay primarily supports Star Micronics printers (e.g. mC-Print3). Other printers may work, but compatibility is not guaranteed.

Step-by-Step: Connect via Ethernet

  1. Connect the Printer
    Connect the printer to your router via LAN cable and ensure it's powered on and online.

  2. Open the App
    Open the Order Ahead app on your tablet.

  3. Access Printer Settings
    Tap the three dots in the top right and select Preferences.

  4. Add a Printer
    Scroll to Printer Management and tap Add a printer.

  5. Select Network Printer
    Choose Local Area Network (LAN), wait for available printers to appear, then select your printer from the list.

Your printer is connected and ready to print orders.

Tips & Best Practices

  • LAN is most reliable: A wired LAN connection is recommended for the most stable printing performance.

  • Same network required: Both devices must be on the same network — check Wi-Fi name and router config if printers don't appear.
