How to Unlink a Card from an Account on a PAX Device

Once a card has been redeemed in full, you can unlink it from the account so it can be reused or resold.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to the Facilipay app on your PAX device.
  • Confirm the card balance has been fully redeemed (or that you intend to remove the card from the account).

Step-by-Step: Unlink a Card

  1. Scan the Card
    Open the Gift app within Facilipay and scan the card you want to unlink.

    Tip: This is the same process you use to check a gift card balance.

  2. Open Account Details
    Once the balance is displayed, tap the icon in the top right (under "Gift").

  3. View Linked Items
    Tap Linked Items to review all cards linked to the account.

  4. Unlink the Card
    Tap the bin icon next to the card you want to remove, review the confirmation message, then tap Accept to proceed.


What Happens After You Unlink

  • The card is unlinked from the account.

  • It will no longer show a balance when scanned.

  • It can be reused or resold if required.


Tips & Best Practices

  • Confirm with the customer: Always confirm before unlinking, as this removes their access to the associated balance.

  • Document for audit: Keep a brief log of unlinked cards for reconciliation, especially if the card is being resold.
