How to Connect a Payment Gateway
To accept online payments through Facilipay, including digital gift card sales, customer top-ups and online orders, your account must be connected to a payment gateway. This article explains how gateway connection works and points you to the setup guide for your chosen provider.
Before You Begin
- Decide which payment gateway you will use. If you already have a merchant account with one of our supported providers, choose that provider.
- Check that your chosen gateway is available in your region. Clover Ecommerce is available only to businesses in North America (United States and Canada).
- Make sure you have admin access to the right dashboard:
- For Stripe, Judopay or Authipay, you need the Facilipay Dashboard.
- For Clover Ecommerce, you need the Clover Dashboard, and your Clover account must already be set up to receive payments.
- Have the relevant details ready. Depending on the gateway, this will be your login details, your business information, or credentials supplied by your provider.
Supported Payment Gateways
Facilipay supports four payment gateways. Each one connects in a slightly different way:
| Gateway | How it connects | Where you connect it | Typical setup time | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Log in to or create a Stripe account and authorise the connection | Facilipay Dashboard | A few minutes | All regions |
| Judopay | Submit a connection request with your business details; Judopay completes setup | Facilipay Dashboard | Around 10 business days | All regions |
| Authipay (AIBMS) | Enter the credentials supplied by Authipay | Facilipay Dashboard | A few minutes, once credentials are issued | All regions |
| Clover Ecommerce | Install the Facilipay E-Commerce Connector app | Clover Dashboard | A few minutes | North America only (US & Canada) |

What Happens After Connection
- Online payments are enabled for services such as Mobile Ordering, Digital Gift Cards and customer top-ups.
- Funds settle directly into the business bank account linked to your gateway. For Clover Ecommerce, this is the same bank account linked to your Clover POS.
- For Stripe, Judopay and Authipay, you can return to Settings → Online Payments in the Facilipay Dashboard at any time to review or update your connection.
Tips & Best Practices
- Check regional availability first: If your business is outside the United States or Canada, Clover Ecommerce will not be available to you. Choose Stripe, Judopay or Authipay instead.
- Plan ahead of launches: If you are using Judopay, start the connection at least two weeks before launching gift cards or app payments.
- Run a test transaction: After connecting, make a small test purchase, such as a Digital Gift Card from your business, to confirm everything is working.
- Keep credentials secure: Treat your gateway login details and API credentials as sensitive payment information and share them only with trusted personnel.
- Need help? For any issues during setup, contact support@facilipay.io or raise a ticket.
