How to Reboot the Clover Mini

Rebooting your Clover Mini can resolve performance issues, software glitches, and temporary freezes that may occur during daily use. This guide shows you how to restart the device safely.

When to Reboot Your Clover Mini

Try rebooting the Clover Mini if the device:

  • Is slow or unresponsive
  • Freezes during use
  • Shows errors in Facilipay or other apps
  • Isn't behaving as expected after updates or network changes

Rebooting often resolves these issues without affecting your settings or data.

Step-by-Step: Standard Reboot

  1. Turn the Printer Off and On
If your Clover Mini is connected to a printer, start by turning the printer off and then on using the switch on the side. This helps reset peripheral connections.

  2. Unlock the Clover Mini
On the touchscreen, tap the four corners of the screen simultaneously to unlock it. This gesture brings up the device controls.

  3. Open the System Menu
From any screen, swipe down from the top right to open the quick settings panel.

  4. Tap Reboot
Select the Reboot option and confirm when prompted to restart the device.

The Clover Mini will shut down and restart, showing the Clover logo as it boots up again.

When a Standard Reboot Isn't Enough

If your Clover Mini still behaves abnormally after a normal reboot, try the following:

  • Soft Reset: Power the unit off completely and turn it back on after a few seconds.

  • Unplug Power: Disconnect the power cord for 10–15 seconds, then reconnect and restart.

  • Check for System Updates: Make sure the Clover OS and Facilipay apps are up to date.

  • Contact Support: If the device will not reboot or keeps crashing, contact Facilipay or Clover support for further troubleshooting.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Check the network first: Sometimes connectivity issues make the device appear frozen. Confirm your Wi-Fi or wired connection before rebooting.

  • Check peripherals: If printers or scanners are connected, ensure they are powered and connected properly before rebooting.

  • Try again if needed: If the device doesn't respond after the first reboot, repeat the process once more before escalating.
